Restaurant Brands International upskills supply chain on sustainability topics through e-learning

Restaurant Brands International (RBI), a global quick service restaurant company, sought to meet its 'Restaurant Brands for Good' sustainability commitments by improving responsible sourcing across its vast supply chain. The challenge involved upskilling the business and assessing supplier capabilities to drive progress on key topics like animal welfare and climate action. They engaged vendor Action Sustainability for consultancy and sustainable procurement services, along with e-learning support.

Action Sustainability developed and is implementing a comprehensive sustainable procurement strategy for RBI, aligned with the ISO 20400 standard. This included creating detailed procurement frameworks for key spend categories, complete with a tiered supplier rating system. To support the rollout, Action Sustainability is providing custom e-learning to upskill colleagues. The outcome is a new, transparent questionnaire process that gives RBI a clear view of supplier sustainability performance, enabling accurate progress measurement and the sharing of best practices.
