BAM achieves greater transparency and supplier engagement with Carbon Calculator

BAM UK & Ireland, a tier 1 contractor, sought greater transparency and engagement from its supply chain in its decarbonisation efforts. The challenge was the inconsistent carbon data received from suppliers, which made it difficult to measure and track progress on scope 3 emissions. To address this, BAM turned to Action Sustainability and implemented their Sustainability Tool’s Scope 3 Carbon Calculator.

Action Sustainability's Carbon Calculator provided a standardized and accessible platform for BAM's suppliers to report emissions data. By promoting the tool through newsletters and its supplier selection process, BAM achieved a high response rate, with over 100 suppliers reporting. This has led to greater data consistency, improved supplier engagement, and provided BAM with the insights needed to better inform its future approach to managing scope 3 emissions.
