BTC City cuts energy consumption by 5% with Actility

BTC City, one of Europe's largest multi-purpose shopping and entertainment centers, faced the significant challenge of managing the high energy consumption and costs across its vast 470,000 m² facility. To reduce consumption and CO2 emissions in line with ISO 50001, BTC turned to vendor Actility and its partner Solvera Lynx for an energy management solution utilizing LoRaWAN technology.

The solution implemented by Actility involved deploying a private LoRaWAN network with long-range sensors to connect utility meters to the GemaLogic software platform. This provided BTC with real-time monitoring, an alarm system for leaks, and detailed energy accounting. The results were substantial: a 5% reduction in overall energy consumption, a 90% reduction in water leakages, and a dramatic decrease in water loss from 40% to 4.5%. Actility's technology enabled quick deployment and provided the critical communication infrastructure for this highly successful project.
