Egide Informatique, founded in Paris in 1986, provides modular real estate management software for commercial, residential and social housing clients and supports about 500 customers with widely varying IT setups. Facing the need for a reliable, high-performance database that wouldn’t require a dedicated DBA—especially for many small customers without IT staff—Egide sought a low-maintenance, embedded solution.

Egide chose Actian Zen, an embedded database with a small footprint, simple licensing and very easy installation (clients install in about 15 minutes). The result has been high reliability and minimal support overhead—only a handful of tickets in 30+ years—allowing Egide to deliver robust performance to customers without the cost or complexity of database administration.
