BUCAP needed a scalable, reliable way to manage and archive hundreds of millions of documents for public, private, and government organizations across Italy while keeping data secure, accessible, and cost-effective. To meet these demands, BUCAP chose Actian Ingres Hybrid Database and Actian OpenROAD to support document storage, indexing, retrieval, and customer self-service.

Actian implemented Actian Ingres and a customer-facing portal built with Actian OpenROAD, enabling BUCAP customers to access and manage archives directly without staff intervention. The result was dramatically lower access costs, faster anytime access for customers, and improved satisfaction; BUCAP also gained greater flexibility, stronger database reliability, and the ability to manage more than 500 million digital documents while supporting over 68,000 daily digital archive actions and 4,500 daily document retrievals.
