A Actian Case Study

Preview of the BBP AG Case Study

BBP builds reliable reputation on integrated development stack of Ingres and Red Hat

BBP AG is a Swiss software and solutions vendor whose IGTplus middleware connects financial institutions to SWIFT, SIC, FED/CHIPS and other networks, offered both in-house and as a service bureau to more than 200 banks worldwide. Because the platform handles sensitive payment and messaging data, BBP needed to guarantee secure, continuous 24x7 interbank connectivity with high availability, strong security controls and low total cost of ownership.

BBP deployed an integrated open‑source stack—Actian Ingres, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux—so development and production run in the same certified environment. The pre‑integrated solution cut project costs by about 30%, reduced deployment risk, improved reliability and security, ensured round‑the‑clock access for customers, and contributed to BBP’s SWIFT accreditation while serving hundreds of banks since 2003.
