Kiabi, the global fashion retailer, needed real-time and historical insights into the performance of its marketing programs, but its legacy Oracle-based data platform could not scale to the company’s high-volume retail environment. Kiabi turned to Actian and its Actian Avalanche analytics solution to support faster, more flexible analysis of sales and marketing data.
Actian implemented Avalanche in production on commodity hardware with minimal tuning, enabling Kiabi to analyze terabytes of data and hundreds of millions of records using its existing BI tools. The result was query response times up to 200x faster than Oracle, an order-of-magnitude reduction in data volumes, and the ability for business users to drill into markdown and campaign performance more quickly and accurately.
