International Game Technology Wins Big

International Game Technology (IGT), a global manufacturer of computerized gaming equipment and casino floor games, needed to modernize a manual, paper-based manufacturing process to stay competitive in a fast-moving industry. The company wanted better efficiency, agility, quality, visibility into orders and work-in-process, faster response to changes, and improved planning and forecasting. To support this transformation, IGT worked with Acsis and its ProducTrak MES solution.

Acsis implemented the ProducTrak MES as an automation layer between IGT’s shop floor transport control system and SAP ERP, digitizing shop floor execution, quality data collection, WIP tracking, and performance reporting. The result was improved production-line visibility and efficiency, reduced paper use by more than 50 pages per game machine, lower costs, better operator and training performance, and stronger management control through real-time data. The success of the project helped IGT earn Managing Automation’s 2009 Progressive Manufacturer award.
