Williams Martini Racing Reduces Backup from Days to Minutes with Acronis

Williams Martini Racing, a leading Formula 1 team, faced rapidly growing volumes of engineering and business data, strict FIA retention rules, and an inefficient tape-based NDMP backup process that made recovery time objectives and daily backups untenable. To modernize protections and support new cloud workloads, they partnered with Acronis and adopted Acronis Backup and Acronis Cloud services (with implementation, consulting, and premier support).

Acronis deployed comprehensive cyber protection across Williams Martini Racing’s factory, trackside infrastructure, and business applications, securing 200 servers, 650 engineering workstations, 1,000+ Office 365 mailboxes and hundreds of terabytes of data. With Acronis Backup and Acronis Cloud, backup and recovery windows fell from days to minutes, routine tasks were shifted to the help desk, tape storage was phased out, and Acronis’ end-to-end encryption plus Active Protection provided automated ransomware defense and faster, more reliable restores.
