Veliko Tarnovo Municipality implements automated backup and recovery solution reducing capital investment

Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, a Bulgarian public agency, was relying on manual backup scripts and a legacy antivirus, leaving its servers and sensitive constituent data vulnerable and creating compliance risks under GDPR. To modernize without large capital expenditure, Veliko Tarnovo selected Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud with Advanced Backup and Active Protection to replace ad hoc processes with an integrated cyber protection and automated backup solution.

Working with managed service provider Diamatix, Acronis deployed the solution in three days, using its agent to detect and stop ransomware in real time, automatically restore altered files, and run scheduled backups for 19 virtual machines and three physical servers. The deployment moved over 1.30 TB of monthly/weekly backups to secure cloud storage in Frankfurt, converted depreciating capital costs to predictable operating expenses, offloaded monitoring to Diamatix, and raised Veliko Tarnovo’s #CyberFit score to 625/850.
