U.S. Department of Agriculture Stays at the Forefront of Mobilization with Acronis Access

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) needed to mobilize a distributed workforce across 17 agencies while balancing BYOD trends, tight federal security requirements, and access to both on‑premises and Office 365 SharePoint content. Facing the prospect of supporting up to 100,000 iOS and Android devices, the agency sought a mobile file management solution that provided FIPS 140‑2 validated encryption, full Office editing and offline access, single sign‑on to Active Directory, and tight integration with MobileIron. USDA selected Acronis and its Acronis Access product to meet these requirements.

Acronis Access was integrated into USDA’s Secure Container by integrator DMI, delivering a single managed app for iOS and Android that offers bi‑directional SharePoint sync (on‑prem and Office 365), full Office document editing, strong DRM controls, and FIPS‑level data protection with Active Directory SSO. The Acronis solution simplified administration, reduced deployment and management costs through MobileIron integration, enabled offline productivity for field workers, and supported USDA’s mobilization of up to 100,000 devices—improving collaboration and responsiveness while maintaining required security controls.
