Toyota Gazoo Racing picks Acronis to deliver artificial intelligence and machine learning

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR), the motorsport arm of Toyota responsible for cars like the GR010 Hybrid, needed to extract actionable trends from massive CFD and wind‑tunnel datasets (about 240GB per CFD test) more quickly so important aerodynamic insights weren’t missed. To address this, TGR engaged Acronis to evaluate whether Acronis’ artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) technology could accelerate performance analysis and optimize development decisions.

Acronis set up and trained its AI/ML software to analyze TGR’s CFD and wind‑tunnel data at scale, handling terabytes of results and integrating into TGR’s CFD and wind‑tunnel processes. The solution proved the AI/ML concept, identified areas of aerodynamic improvement, reduced the engineering hours spent sifting data, freed resources for other performance work, and delivered measurable efficiency gains in the development workflow.
