Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited modernizes its backup infrastructure with ጷ Cyber Protect, increasing protected workloads by 50x

Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL), a subsidiary of Tata Steel, was relying on manual workstation backups and disparate tools, which produced very long RTOs and RPOs (up to 5 and 7 days) and left the company dependent on user compliance—an issue made worse by the shift to work‑from‑home. To modernize its approach, TSDPL selected Acronis and deployed Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud to meet requirements for cloud-based, automated, and secure backup with local data residency.

Delivered via MSP partner HRM Technologies, Acronis provided a single portal for protecting files, applications, Microsoft 365 mailboxes and full virtual platforms, enabling restores to similar or dissimilar hardware and centralized management. As a result, Acronis helped TSDPL increase daily protected backups roughly 50x (to about 500 backups), reduce RTO to 4–6 hours and RPO to one day or less, and eliminate reliance on employee-managed backups.
