Major Engineering and Construction Company Builds its Virtual Server Recovery Efforts on Acronis Software

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, a multi-office engineering and construction firm, needed to ensure rapid recovery of virtual machines supporting CAD and other critical applications as it moved to a VMware vSphere environment on Dell EqualLogic. To meet a 15-minute RTO target for its growing virtual machine population, Hargrove evaluated backup solutions and selected Acronis and its Acronis Backup Advanced for VMware product.

Acronis deployed Acronis Backup Advanced for VMware (initially three licenses) to capture VM snapshots and enable virtual-to-virtual and file-level recoveries. The solution allowed Hargrove to virtualize 12 servers so far and routinely recover servers in about 15 minutes, avoiding full-machine restores and cutting potential downtime costs by thousands of dollars per day, while Acronis’s support smoothed the 45-day evaluation and rollout.
