Kent Police Nabs Acronis for Faster, Easier and More Efficient Backups

Kent Police, responsible for 6,000 employees and roughly 500 TB of data across more than 500 physical and virtual Windows, Linux and VMware servers, needed faster, more reliable disaster recovery and a single solution to replace multiple backup platforms. Facing regular bomb threats, protests, cyber attacks and viruses and aiming for one-hour recovery objectives, Kent Police selected Acronis and its Acronis Backup family to meet these requirements.

Acronis deployed Acronis Backup for Windows Server and Acronis Backup for VMware with built‑in deduplication and catalog/search capabilities to enable both full-image and file-level restores. The Acronis solution reduced backup image sizes by about 80%, cut storage costs by an estimated £13,000 per year, and shortened recovery times from up to three days to under an hour, while simplifying management across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
