Case Study: SICK AG achieves company-wide consistent terminology and streamlined translations with Acrolinx

A Acrolinx Case Study

Preview of the Sick AG Case Study

SICK Succeeds in Using Consistent Language and Terminology Throughout the Company

SICK, a global sensor manufacturer, faced inconsistent German source texts produced across multiple departments that multiplied during translation and undermined a consistent corporate voice. To tackle this, SICK centralized translations, created a cross‑division terminology team and adopted Acrolinx as its company‑wide terminology database and author‑support solution.

By implementing Acrolinx, SICK built a terminology database (3,500 terms in German, more than 19,000 total), integrated checks into authoring tools and a CMS, and provided author support to roughly 100 users; term lists are exported weekly to translators and fed into SDL Trados. Acrolinx helped SICK speed up editorial reviews, lower translation costs, raise awareness and consistency of terminology, and prepare marketing content for scalable multilingual publication.
