A Acrolinx Case Study
Arm Holdings, a Cambridge‑based semiconductor company, struggled with inconsistent, hard‑to‑maintain technical content authored across many tools (DITA, CMS, Adobe, FrameMaker, JIRA, Confluence, Word), outdated style guides, overly formal tone, and poor SEO. To scale content creation beyond lengthy 6,000‑page manuals and make documentation clearer for global audiences, Arm Holdings adopted Acrolinx (the Acrolinx content governance platform) to govern tone, terminology, and style across its diverse authoring environments.
Acrolinx helped Arm refresh its technical style guide, enforce a single “trusted colleague” voice, and provide content‑type specific guidance; Arm has 2,500 Arm‑specific terms, 100 guidelines across 40 domains, and ran 44,000 Acrolinx checks between June 2018 and June 2019. The result: faster editorial workflows, consistent terminology and tone, improved readability and SEO, and a broader range of content (blogs, app notes, tutorials, integration manuals), with Acrolinx enabling continued automation of checks and direct HTML/PDF publishing.
