Grammar and Style Rules Improve User Documentation at Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric, a global energy-management company with international authoring teams, faced inconsistent English technical documentation because both native and non-native speakers produced source content. To standardize quality and reduce review overhead, Schneider Electric selected Acrolinx and its content optimization software to enforce grammar, style and terminology rules across authors and reviewers.

Schneider Electric integrated customized global-English rules and a terminology database into Acrolinx (deployed in authors’ CMS/Adobe FrameMaker and in lead-writer checks), with roughly 1,000 terms and about 80 system users. The Acrolinx implementation shortened review cycles, standardized English usage, and reduced errors—results Schneider Electric validates through Acrolinx’s reporting capabilities showing steadily improving quality.
