How MasteryPrep Uses Adaptive Learning to Prepare Students for the ACT College Admissions Test

MasteryPrep, a Louisiana-based provider of ACT professional development used by more than 500 school districts, specializes in preparing students who are academically behind or not college‑bound. Faced with states increasingly requiring all juniors to take the ACT and with traditional test-prep geared toward high achievers, MasteryPrep needed a way to personalize instruction so its district-delivered curriculum could effectively reach learners across the full achievement spectrum.

To solve this, MasteryPrep piloted an adaptive, blended learning program delivered on Acrobatiq’s platform: monthly adaptive content students work through online while being supported by teachers or proctors. Early results have been encouraging—teachers report high engagement, students are working beyond required tasks (one completed a month’s content weeks early), and the company plans to scale the adaptive approach to better target individual gaps and improve college- and career-readiness for all students.
