A acre security Case Study
The Diamond Hangar, the largest hangar at Stansted, faced a critical security challenge after a change of ownership: keeping landside and airside strictly separated and preventing anyone entering the hangar while its massive main doors (over 40m wide and 40m tall) were open — cabling to those doors was impractical. acre security was engaged to design an access-control solution, specifying ACTpro 4000 controllers and ACTentry V‑IP entry panels to meet the site’s constraints.
acre security implemented microwave transmitter/receiver links to communicate with ACTpro 4000 units on each hangar door, with receivers retaining the full credentials database so access continues even if a receiver is blocked by an aircraft tail. The main entrance received a dual-height post with two ACTentry V‑IP panels and a barrier controlled by an ACTpro 4000, and site-wide software on multiple PCs provides daytime automation. The solution secured landside/airside separation, prevented unauthorized entry when doors are open, ensured uninterrupted access control in all conditions, and reduced reliance on manned guards.
