A acre security Case Study
Redlands Unified School District, which serves more than 21,000 students across 16 elementary, four middle and four high schools, faced unique security challenges from an aging campus layout and multiple perimeter openings—most critically Terrier Hall, a high-traffic cafeteria/assembly space. To strengthen lockdown capabilities without replacing all hardware, acre security worked with existing systems and recommended retrofitting with the Von Duprin RU solution integrated into the district’s Vanderbilt enterprise access control and Schlage AD Series electronic locks.
acre security installed Von Duprin RU retrofit kits on five doors around Terrier Hall and on each of four portable office doors at the district office, tying those devices into the Vanderbilt system for real-time monitoring, scheduled locking and centralized lockdown control. The result was improved, district-wide lockdown capability and fewer human errors—securing high-occupancy assembly space and unique district office areas, saving on replacement costs by upgrading existing hardware, and providing greater peace of mind for staff and administrators.
