Access Control Satisfying Sector-Specific Protocols

Icon, a global provider of outsourced drug development services, faced the need for an access control system that met strict pharmaceutical regulations and eliminated the risk of card cloning. acre security worked with installer EES Ltd to implement ACTpro DESFire EV1 MIFARE contactless smart cards/readers and ACTpro 4000 two‑door controllers to meet these sector-specific demands.

acre security’s solution used DESFire EV1 cards with ACTpro 1050 readers and ACTpro 4000 controllers (expandable to 16 doors via ACTpro door stations), delivering unique card serial numbers, strong anti‑cloning protection and universal anti‑passback across controllers. The deployment satisfied regulator requirements, reduced the risk of card misuse or cloning, and enabled NFC-based functions like cashless vending and HR applications, enhancing both security and operational flexibility for Icon.
