West Virginia University Foundation Implements Remote Administration, Shortens Time-to-Update

West Virginia University Foundation (WVUF) is a non profit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of those touched by West Virginia University by maximizing private charitable support and providing services to the University and its affiliated organizations. As a university-owned and managed foundation, network and web security are paramount, but WVUF’s IT team relied on a very manual Drupal update process—manually downloading updates, pushing to development, clearing caches, testing, and then pushing to production—which took at least 20 minutes per update and increased the risk of errors.

Already on Acquia Cloud Enterprise, WVUF added Acquia Remote Administration (RA) to automate weekly security updates across subscriptions and multisites. RA offloads the repetitive update work so the team can focus on value-add features; since implementation, update time has fallen from 20+ minutes to just a few minutes, improving efficiency and reducing the chance of mistakes.
