The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew needed a more flexible digital experience for kew.org to better serve its tourism audience, scientific community, and conservation mission. As the site handled over 1.5 million page views per month and supported ticket sales, donations, and research content, Kew looked to Acquia and its Drupal-based CMS on Acquia Cloud Platform to replace a rigid setup and improve site structure, user journeys, and content management.

Acquia, working with Kew’s digital team and agency partner Manifesto, helped migrate and redesign the site with reusable Drupal templates and a more responsive, decoupled experience. The relaunch in March 2019 improved user engagement and reduced the average bounce rate by 19.9%, while also saving time and resources by avoiding a rebuild from scratch.
