A Acquia Case Study
Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford needed to replace a patchwork of legacy websites with a single, flexible platform that would deliver a first-class online experience for prospective students, current students, faculty and alumni, support fast-changing programme requirements, and simplify content management across the organisation. The brief called for one enterprise content strategy and CMS to serve four distinct sites: the public site, an Executive Education extranet, an intranet, and GOTO, a new community learning environment.
The School chose Drupal and partnered with Acquia, One and Pronovix, using an agile, scrum-driven delivery (including an intensive two-week on‑site micro-scrum) to launch the four sites on an accelerated timeline. The result was a cohesive, media-rich web estate that improved marketing and user experience, removed content silos and day‑to‑day content burden from IT, enabled easy cloning of Executive Education programme sites, and launched GOTO to support student and alumni collaboration—delivering an adaptable platform for continuous improvement.
