Flight Centre Travel Group, a global travel provider whose retail site flightcentre.com.au attracts millions of visits a month, needed a more agile content management platform to support frequent content publishing, marketing campaigns, mobile experiences and a network of 60 retail sites plus its corporate FCM Travel site operating in 80 countries. Its legacy IBM WCM plus home‑grown overlays couldn’t deliver the speed, flexibility or ease of global content sharing required for SEO, conversions and rapid rollouts.

Flight Centre migrated to Drupal with Acquia’s hosting, support and tools (Acquia Cloud, Acquia Search, Technical Account Management), retrained much of its team and upskilled about 50% of developers. The change simplified workflows, enabled a global content repository, improved SEO and faceted search, and accelerated multichannel deployments—delivering cost savings, faster global rollouts (including the U.K. and South Africa) and improved digital agility while supporting sites that drive millions of monthly visits.
