Astellas Pharma, based in Tokyo, needed a new global corporate website that could deliver trusted information across 30 regional sites while improving governance, security, and user experience. Its legacy content management system made updates slow and manual, and separate servers across regions increased cost and risk. Astellas turned to Acquia, along with digital agency CI&T, for help using Acquia Site Factory and related Acquia services.

Acquia implemented a standardized multisite platform using Drupal 8 and Acquia Site Factory, plus Acquia Cloud Edge Protect for security and reliability. The result was faster site creation, stronger brand consistency, and improved operational control: Astellas launched its corporate site in less than five months, then rolled out 12 regional sites across Asia, with plans for more in the Americas and Europe. Acquia also helped ensure 24/7 platform availability and protection against malicious attacks.
