New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation needed a simpler way to share curated images and receive assets from external partners without adding or managing users in their Widen digital asset management (DAM) system. Their challenge was to give press, media and partners easy, controlled access to select assets while reducing the volume of manual requests and inquiries.
By using the Widen API they built a custom website interface that lets external users browse hand-picked assets, download or order from a lightbox, and upload files via an API endpoint for non-registered contributors. The result: faster, more flexible distribution of up-to-date assets, fewer calls and emails, and a smoother workflow for staff, partners and media.
