A Acquia DAM Case Study
Sheridan College, a leading Ontario postsecondary institution serving about 38,000 students across four campuses, faced a growing digital asset problem: thousands of images and media files were scattered on CDs and local drives, making it hard to find or share assets. One senior designer became the bottleneck—fielding requests, hunting for files, and trying (unsuccessfully) to manage assets with tools like Extensis, CAT Finder, and Adobe Bridge.
Sheridan implemented Widen’s Media Collective digital asset management system, which allowed easy migration of existing folders, centralized storage, role-based access, and a Collections feature to assemble and share curated assets. The result: departments can search and download independently, workflows are faster, contact-sheet tasks are eliminated, designers have more time for creative work, and users across the college feel empowered.
