Pacific Cycle, a division of Dorel, needed a better way to manage thousands of product photos and marketing assets across multiple brands and roughly 3,000 users. Eric Peckham, a graphic designer who inherited the company’s DAM, faced fragmented systems, time-consuming manual file conversions, and the growing need to support internal teams, external agencies and social media-driven user‑generated content.
They migrated to the Widen Media Collective in 2011 and now use centralized asset storage, robust metadata, access controls, on‑demand format conversions, collections and a Dropbox integration (paired with IFTTT) to automatically ingest hashtagged social content. The result is a daily, self‑serve workflow that speeds asset searches and delivery, captures large volumes of UGC, reduces manual work, and has driven adoption across other divisions.
