A Acquia DAM Case Study
LiveWire, born from the Harley‑Davidson lineage, aims to be the world’s most desirable electric motorcycle brand and depends on rich multimedia and localized content to communicate its vision. However, its previous AngularJS static site tightly coupled code and content, forcing developers to deploy code for every content update, preventing reuse of components, blocking modern CMS features (WYSIWYG, workflows, scheduled publishing), and limiting localization and editorial autonomy.
EPAM implemented a headless Drupal back end on the Acquia platform (with Acquia DAM and Solr search), modeling content, exposing APIs to the existing front end, and integrating translation and media workflows. The change enabled editors to manage media-rich pages and translations, added features like a Bike Builder and proximity search, and was rolled out quickly (MVP in one month) and expanded to additional markets; results included sold‑out preorders, Lighthouse mobile scores rising from ~10 to 50+, CLS improving from 0.158 to 0.0, and faster, more flexible content operations.
