Johnson Outdoors, a global maker of outdoor recreation brands including Old Town, Minn Kota, SCUBAPRO, Jetboil and Eureka!, needed to modernize its commerce platform as Drupal 7 reached end-of-life. The company faced scalability and performance issues, complex product information (PIM) imports, order-splitting and OMS/payment integration challenges, and the need to centralize e-commerce while supporting multiple business units and white‑label requirements without sacrificing reuse or testability.
