A Acquia DAM Case Study
The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), a professional organization focused on education and advancing functional medicine, struggled to manage more than 29,000 educational assets with basic file-sharing tools that made searching by anything other than filename difficult. As the organization grew, protecting intellectual property and understanding how content was used became urgent priorities, but they lacked granular security controls and any usage analytics.
IFM implemented the Widen Collective digital asset management system, using customizable metadata, sharable Portals, and permission controls to organize content, protect IP, and tailor access. The result: assets are easily searchable and managed by program/year, IFM can control viewing, sharing and downloads, and analytics now reveal who uses what—helping optimize resources. Today IFM manages ~29,100 assets with about 60,000 embed views per month and 1.3 million downloads last year.
