Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute, a leading cancer center and Harvard Medical School affiliate, needed a single “gold standard” for clinically reviewed patient education. Its legacy process—manual tracking in a project tool and a network share of PDFs—made it hard to keep content current, consistent across formats (web, print, PDF in the EMR), and translated in a timely way.

Working with Perficient and Acquia, DFCI implemented a Drupal-based workflow with CKEditor 5, content types, translation integration, and Acquia DAM for branded PDFs and consistent links; headless APIs and a single‑page app (plus Xealth/Epic integration) delivered content where clinicians and patients need it. The solution simplified collaboration and review, ensured the most clinically accurate content is linked everywhere, and reduced the time to author, review, and translate materials.
