The City of Burnaby’s Golf Burnaby site needed a modern, service-oriented CMS and a refreshed design to replace its 2015 site, upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9, integrate Acquia DAM, and prepare for future city-services multisite deployments—challenges compounded by a simultaneous golf course management system replacement and the City’s limited experience with Drupal multisite.

Working with implementation partner Versett, Burnaby redesigned the information architecture and visual brand, implemented Drupal 9 with Layout Builder, established a reusable multisite approach, migrated to Acquia Cloud and Acquia DAM, and streamlined content editing and media management. The seven-month project delivered a more maintainable, mobile-friendly site and helped drive a 36% increase in monthly visitors and a 27% increase in monthly pageviews, while laying the groundwork for faster, consistent future city websites.
