Balsam Brands Increases Efficiency of Displaying Product Imagery on E-commerce Site

Balsam Brands is an e-commerce retailer known for highly realistic artificial Christmas trees and seasonal décor whose site depends on compelling, detailed photography to drive purchases. During peak season they launched many products and managing the resulting images was slow and brittle—photographers had to create multiple file sizes, follow strict naming/folder rules, and only a few people knew the complex FTP workflow, which created bottlenecks and weeks-long delays before images could go live.

Balsam Brands implemented the Widen Collective to feed images into their Hybris site management system, eliminating manual resizing and fragile folder workflows: upload once, add metadata, and images are cropped, resized, and embedded via code by anyone with permission. The change made product imagery available in a day instead of weeks, improved video hosting and the customer experience, expanded internal use as a brand resource, and brought responsive support from Widen.
