The International Rescue Committee faced the challenge of increasing donations by delivering highly relevant appeals at the right moment across a large, decentralized organization (60+ offices). IRC needed an easy-to-use marketing automation solution that would integrate with Salesforce.com for segmentation and personalized communications, and chose Acoustic and its Campaign platform (formerly Campaign Automation) to meet that need.
Using Acoustic Campaign’s two-way Salesforce integration and web tracking, IRC implemented behavior-driven automated programs — notably a remarketing email for donation-page abandoners and a “Symbolic Gift” cart-abandonment follow-up — that send timely, personalized messages the next day. Acoustic’s solution produced strong results: open rates exceeded 50% for these programs, donation rates were 20x those of other end-of-year emails, and A/B subject-line testing delivered a 2% lift in opens, generating additional donation revenue that wouldn’t have occurred otherwise.
