World Trade Center - Customer Case Study

The World Trade Center reconstruction required a reliable way to protect hundreds of workers and planners across a sprawling, multi-zone construction site. To address this safety challenge, Acoustic Technology, Inc. was awarded the contract to provide an emergency mass‑notification system delivering audible alerts and intelligible voice commands so the Port Authority and construction teams could be immediately notified of weather‑related or man‑made hazards and directed to evacuate or relocate as needed.

Acoustic Technology, Inc. designed and began installing a perimeter‑based, acoustically modeled mass notification solution that meets applicable codes and minimizes disruption to the surrounding community. The system includes a portable control station (with backup), RF communications, three high‑power speaker stations (1,600 W each), six 400 W outdoor speaker units, 24‑hour rechargeable battery backup and full system supervision; operated by Port Authority police, it provides site‑wide, intelligible alerts, proven reliability and scalability to integrate with future text and desktop alerting.
