A Acoustic Technology, Inc. Case Study
HMEL (Hindustan Mittal Energy Limited) required a robust, standards-based emergency public address and alert system for the new Guru Gobind Singh Refinery that would integrate with the site’s TETRA communications, fire alarm and telephone systems and provide comprehensive indoor and outdoor coverage before commissioning. Acoustic Technology, Inc. delivered a TETRA radio–based wireless public address solution, including their MassAlert® software, to meet these requirements.
Acoustic Technology, Inc. deployed a redundant IP-based wireless PA with two control stations, 38 HPSS16 outdoor speaker stations (1,600 W each), 57 Indoor Speaker Units driving over 900 four‑watt speakers, 10 strobe RTUs powering 60 strobes, and multiple RTU interfaces to fire, radio and telephone systems. The result was zoned and selective live/pre-recorded messaging, continuous monitoring and TETRA integration, installed in February 2012 ahead of commissioning, providing measurable, scalable coverage, secure redundancy and improved reach across the entire HMEL refinery complex.
