A Acoustic Technology, Inc. Case Study

Preview of the Lajes Field Air Base Case Study

ATI Systems Provides a DSL/IP Based Public Address System for Lajes Field Air Base Wing in Portugal

Lajes Field Air Base in Portugal needed a reliable, basewide indoor public address and alerting solution that could use existing copper wiring while providing redundant control and clear, actionable monitoring. Acoustic Technology, Inc. delivered a DSL/IP-based Public Address System—including Control Stations, Indoor Speaker Units (ISUs) and MassAlert® software—to meet the wing’s requirement for audible tones, live PA and visual strobe alerts.

Acoustic Technology, Inc. implemented two redundant Control Stations and ISUs networked over a DSL-based IP backbone to control over 290 low‑voltage speakers and 70 strobes, with distributed amplifiers, built‑in DSL modems and full diagnostics. The system provides continuous monitoring, success/failure reporting for activations, and immediate tone, pre‑recorded and live announcements—delivering dependable indoor coverage, operational redundancy and measurable control of hundreds of notification points.
