UN Climate Change Conference (cop30) kept 885 interpreting sessions running with Acolad

The UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) faced the immense challenge of providing seamless multilingual communication for thousands of delegates across a vast, fast-paced, and unpredictable event environment in Belém, Brazil. Any disruption to interpreting services risked delaying critical climate negotiations and reducing participation. To address this, the organization partnered with vendor Acolad and its technology partner Interactio to implement a robust interpreting solution.

Acolad deployed a hybrid solution combining remote and on-site interpreting, managed by a central team that actively coordinated hundreds of expert interpreters and technical specialists. This flexible setup ensured continuous coverage across 44 rooms and 15 pavilions, adapting instantly to last-minute changes. The result was operational resilience throughout the 11-day summit; Acolad's interpreting services acted as an invisible backbone, enabling uninterrupted dialogue and ensuring all participants could contribute and be understood in eight languages, thus supporting the global cooperation essential for the event's success.
