Process Payrolls Faster With Intelligent Document Processing

Major Swiss Bank, an anonymized major Swiss bank, needed a faster way to extract data from payroll documents submitted during loan applications. Manually reviewing many different payslip layouts and recording more than 40 predefined data points was time-consuming, and a template-based approach was not suitable, so the bank worked with Acodis and its intelligent document processing (IDP) services.

Acodis trained a deep learning system on 1,300 payslips and deployed a solution covering OCR, data extraction, validation, classification, and normalization through a web application and API. The system achieved an F1 score of 0.93 versus 0.94 for human reference values, and it was rolled out in record time, enabling automated payroll data extraction for more than 40,000 documents per year and supporting faster credit analysis.
