GSK digitizes 65,000 pages with Acodis

The Society for Swiss Art History (GSK) faced the challenge of digitizing 92 years of its published research, a 137-volume book series totaling 65,000 pages that serves as the standard reference on Swiss art and architecture. They needed to extract this content to create a public online knowledge base. To accomplish this, GSK partnered with Acodis to use its intelligent document processing (IDP) services.

Acodis implemented a solution that involved scanning the books, then using text recognition and IDP to automatically extract and structure all text, images, and metadata for each monument. The data was enriched with geographical information and used to build the "Kds-Online" web platform with a powerful search engine. As a result, Acodis helped GSK launch the largest digital project in the science of arts, making nearly a century of research publicly accessible and enabling efficient, flexible research for all users.

GSK
