Wärtsilä Global Logistics Services, part of the global shipping and energy company Wärtsilä, needed a better way to handle large volumes of purchase orders and requests for quotation across more than 80 countries. An earlier automation attempt was too costly to maintain and couldn’t reliably handle different document structures and formats, so Wärtsilä turned to Acodis for intelligent document processing and data extraction.

Acodis implemented a customized extraction pipeline and an extendable learning system that lets Wärtsilä employees manage and expand document analysis independently. The solution now processes about 40,000 pages per year, enables real-time handling of orders and RFQs worldwide, and helps Wärtsilä save time and resources while improving responsiveness and customer relationships.
