Case Study: United Nations World Food Programme achieves streamlined, value-added audits and secure SAP access with ACL

A ACL Case Study

Preview of the United Nations World Food Programme Case Study

United Nations World Food Programme Embedded Data Analysis for a Global Organization

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the largest humanitarian organization serving about 90 million people in 80 countries, needed a secure, independent way for its Office of Internal Audit to access SAP and other platforms after replacing its legacy ERP. Spreadsheets could not handle the volume and variety of transactional data, and audit teams lacked standardized analysis, full-population testing and clear user-access controls.

WFP built a monitoring (CAM) tool using ACL’s Direct Link for SAP ERP to generate a suite of 75+ periodic reports covering over 60% of business processes, flag exceptions, and standardize risk assessments across teams and management. The solution delivered seamless, secure data access, value-added reporting, and much faster audits (for example, a biennial financial audit went from six auditors for two months to two auditors for one month) and earned the ACL Impact Award.
