Ivy Tech Community College, the nation’s largest singly accredited statewide community college system serving nearly 200,000 students, needed a scalable, repeatable analytics approach to support internal audit across 14 regions and multiple departments (Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, Purchasing). The audit team sought to automate repetitive tests, improve visibility into business processes, distribute exceptions to stakeholders, and reduce dependence on IT for data extracts and reporting.
Ivy Tech implemented ACL Analytics Exchange and the AX exception-management workflow, supported by consulting, training and support services, to run scheduled, server-based analytics and web-based exception distribution. The solution automated off‑peak testing, gave managers timely remediation insight, removed IT bottlenecks, and enabled rapid results—most notably identifying about 11,000 errant hold codes—and uncovered overpayments and P‑card exceptions; roughly 110 end users were trained and the program is being expanded across additional functions.
