A ACL Case Study
Dean Foods, the largest U.S. processor and direct-to-store distributor of fluid milk and other dairy products, faced growing audit, compliance and operational-risk pressures after merging major regional businesses. IT Risk and Security leaders needed a reliable, reproducible way to monitor privileged activity and reduce error-prone, manual reviews that relied on spreadsheets and ad-hoc analyses.
Dean Foods implemented ACL Analytics, ACL Analytics Exchange and ACL GRC, supported by ACL training and services, to automate continuous monitoring: Analytics Exchange flags potentially unauthorized privileged commands and sends exceptions to the GRC Results Manager, which triggers notifications and follow-up questionnaires. The program uncovered $1–2M in procurement waste, automated detection of unauthorized activity, and cut manual review time by about 8–10 hours per week, delivering strong ROI and more trusted controls.
