Sime Darby is a Malaysia-based diversified multinational operating in 25 countries and four territories with more than 120,000 employees across five core sectors (Plantation, Industrial Equipment, Motors, Property and Logistics). After a major merger and with multiple, uneven IT platforms across the group, auditors struggled to obtain line-of-sight and provide reasonable assurance over transactional data using traditional methods.

Sime Darby deployed ACL Analytics and ACL Direct Link for SAP ERP/R3 to access data directly across databases and adopt a risk-based, data-analytic audit approach. The solution delivered 100% data coverage and continuous monitoring, increased management and audit-committee confidence in controls, cut field audit days by roughly 50% (from about 20–30 days to 5–7), and expanded analytics use into finance, IT and management.
