John Hancock Life Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad, a Kuala Lumpur–based insurer, faced a labor-intensive annual claims review: large volumes of detailed claim files, manual reconciliation between its AS/400 insurance system and the accounting system, and reliance on technical expertise that made reviews slow and error-prone.
