Shiny Tea - Customer Case Study

Shiny Tea, a tea retailer founded in 2014 by Horace and Amy, wanted a better way to manage customer loyalty and gift cards beyond its traditional stamp card system. The company partnered with Ackroo to launch an automated gift card and loyalty program, along with a branded mobile app, so it could better differentiate its brand and give customers a dedicated app experience.

With Ackroo’s solution, Shiny Tea introduced rewards offers such as “my Shiny Tea” points and a Lunar New Year promotion, while also enabling card registration and customer communications. The results were strong: the mobile app saw 1,754 downloads and 742 active users as of June 2017, 852 cards were in circulation with 98% registered, 50% of registered cards opted into communications, and Shiny Tea reported more than a 20% lift in transactions.
